Getting Started

Savvy recruiters like you understand the importance of getting your organization's message directly to your target audience.  On-campus recruiting is your direct link to reaching our students for job, internship and co-op opportunities.

Scheduling Your Recruiting Activities
Scheduling your visit to campus is a simple and easy process.  We'll find a time that best fits your schedule and fits in with the academic calendar at Washington University.  Whether you are coming for an information session or to interview students (or both!), we will work with you to make the most of your time on campus.  We encourage you to schedule your recruiting activities as early in the semester as possible.
Using eRecruiting

The Career Center utilizes eRecruiting, a web-based college recruiting platform, to post and manage job, internship, and co-op listings. eRecruiting will help us stay connected with you throughout your on-campus recruiting experience.

Posting Your Opportunity
Once you have scheduled your on-campus recruiting activities, including on-campus interviews and resume referrals, we can post your opportunity in eRecruiting.  All 6,000 undergraduate students at Washington University have automatic access to The Career Center's database (students know this system as "eRecruiting").

Resume Referrals

We understand that a visit to campus may not be a possibility for you.  If this is the case, we encourage you to set up a resume referral for your full-time and/or internship and co-op opportunities.

Benefits of a Resume Referral
  • Easy to use.  We'll use eRecruiting to post and maintain your listing and resume referral. eRecruiting is web-based, so you have access to your posting 24/7.
  • Higher visibility.  We will help advertise your opportunity to our students.
  • Prepared and motivated students.  For most resume referrals, students must complete our Senior Prep Series to apply.  This means that you get polished students who have benefited from one-on-one advising to strengthen their interviewing skills and identify their career interests.
  • Streamlined application process.  Instead of receiving applications from students throughout your application period, we will email you a bundle of all applications once per week or on your application deadline.  You can even log on to eRecruiting at anytime to view the applicants.
If you are interested in setting up a Resume Referral, please contact us at 314-935-5930.

Information Sessions

Information sessions provide an excellent platform for you to tell students what makes your organization stand out.  If you are recruiting on-campus, we strongly recommend that you hold an information session.
  • Share your company's success and why students should work for you
  • Help students understand the skills and abilities that you are looking for in a candidate
  • Help increase student interest in your positions
  • Start one-on-one relationships with students interested in working for your organization
Planning Your Information Session

Lean on The Career Center to schedule your information session!  Contact us to find a date and time that fits your schedule.  We also provide the following assistance:
  • Free space on campus, including conference rooms, classrooms or larger venues
  • Audiovisual equipment and accommodations
  • Assistance with promoting your information session
  • Campus catering services - Bon Appetit is our on-campus caterer.  They offer a variety of options and can work within your budget.

On-Campus Interviews

On-Campus Interviews allow you to meet with many Washington University students in one day.  We are flexible, allowing for half or full day schedules.

To make your visit as simple as possible:

  • Allow us to help you develop and maintain your job or internship posting.
  • Use eRecruiting to manage your interview schedule.  You will be given a username and password after The Career Center has received your job posting.
  • Use The Career Center's free, private interview rooms.
  • All students are required to complete our Senior Prep Series, which requires them to complete a mock interview and create a job search plan, with the help of our career advisors.
To schedule your on-campus visit, please contact us at 314-935-5930.
