Welcome WashU Faculty & Staff

By engaging and collaborating closely with you as faculty and staff, the Center for Career Engagement (CCE) strives to grow and strengthen a robust WashU support network that truly meets students where they are for conversations about career – whether in the classroom, in residence halls, or elsewhere across campus.

Our Goal: A Collaborative Approach to Student Career Support

The Academic & Campus Partnerships team seeks to provide information and resources that increase the level of comfort and confidence of faculty and staff to have important career conversations, suggest relevant resources, or make referrals for career coaching. This team serves as a first point of contact for WashU faculty and staff who have questions about what the CCE offers or who are looking to partner with the CCE to integrate career related content or workshops into their classroom or campus programming.

How Can We Partner With You?

Request a “Meet the CCE” Presentation

The CCE is always happy to share an overview of services and resources.

Request a Custom Workshop

Partner with the CCE to offer a program or workshop to meet the needs of your students.

Request an Alum or Employer Speaker

Connect with the CCE to invite an alumni or employer partner as a classroom guest.

The CCE provides career support to ALL students at WashU – including undergraduate, Masters and PhD students – as well as post-doctoral scholars and alumni.

Beginning in Fall 2024, students will schedule appointments with a career coach in Handshake. Once the student logs in, they will click “Career Center” on the left tool bar and “Schedule an Appointment.” Students can schedule an appointment with any coach within the CCE. Students can search for a coach based on preferred availability. They can also search for coaches within industry-aligned career communities. Students who are uncertain about their career interests can begin by meeting with a coach within the Career Exploration community.

For MBA and Specialized Masters Program (SMP) students only: Appointments are made through OlinConnect.

Career communities are groups which students can join to learn about and participate in events, programs and resources organized by industry. All first year students and rising second year students have been invited to join communities. Any student may join career communities at any time and may join as many career communities as they like.

Each career community is meant to be a place for students to explore careers, make connections, and feel a sense of belonging. By choosing one or more, students are not committing to a specific path. However, they will have access to resources such as:

  • Curated content and newsletters
  • Panels, programs, and events with alumni, practitioners, and industry experts
  • Toolkits (best-in-class resumes, industry-aligned job search strategies, etc.)
  • Signature events where you can connect with recruiters
  • Industry-specific sessions and decision-making workshops
  • Drop-in career coaching
  • Bear Treks–in St. Louis and beyond!
